DUNDALK, Maryland (WJZ) — A tractor-trailer truck crashed into several homes and a light pole in Dundalk, Maryland on Wednesday afternoon.
CBS News Baltimore obtained video of the crash on North Dundalk Avenue.
The driver, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive.
There’s no word yet on what caused the crash or if any charges will be filed. Brian Hylton said he ran to rescue the driver.
“I went to the truck door, pulled the guy out from the truck, then crawled up underneath the tractor-trailer and went to the door, went to the doorway, hollering for people, making sure there was nobody in the house,” Hylton said. “(I) dug through the rubble to make sure there was no bodies or anything. Nobody was in the house thank God. Nobody was hurt.”
The damage left behind was significant. The roof of a porch ended up on top of the tractor-trailer. The truck was towed away early Thursday morning.
“Anybody could have been walking down the sidewalk, could have been killed instantly,” said neighbor Michael Sions. “I’m just glad everybody’s safe and hope it doesn’t happen again.”
