Mississippi (WAPT) — Friends of a Mississippi teenager whose body was found after a Fourth of July boat trip want to conduct their own investigation into his death, according to their attorneys.
Attorneys representing Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo and Morgan Seymour said the three want to visit Horn Island, located off the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Nolan Wells’ body was discovered along the island’s shoreline two days after the boat trip.
It is possible the three are among those who were with Wells on the day of the trip. However, it remains unclear how his body ended up on the island’s shoreline.
Attorneys for Hudson, Pitalo and Seymour maintain that their clients had nothing to do with Wells’ death and want to determine what happened to him.
An independent autopsy listed Wells’ cause of death as undetermined. The county coroner said there were no obvious signs of foul play.
The state medical examiner has not yet completed the official autopsy. Toxicology results are still pending and could take several weeks.
