BLUE ASH, Ohio (WLWT) — A large group gathered outside an ICE office in Blue Ash Sunday morning to show support for the Haitian community.
The rally comes less than two weeks after thousands of Haitian migrants lost their temporary protected status in the U.S. Advocates say many Haitians in the Springfield area are now receiving letters from the Department of Homeland Security asking them to attend check-ins.
People who have attended those check-ins said they were placed on ankle monitors and given court dates.
“These people are from our community and they need to know that we care,” one faith leader at the rally said.
