After Harris County Commissioners Court approved salary increases placing several countywide elected officials at $305,000 annually, Hudspeth announced she would not accept her newly authorized salary because the additional compensation came without additional funding for her office. Recent county budget proceedings confirm the $305,000 salary level approved for most affected elected officials.Why?Because accepting more for herself could mean having less available for the people helping her office serve Harris County.
