Grains mixed, livestock mixed

CHICAGO (AP) _ Grain futures were mixed in early trading Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Jul. corn was up 0.25 cent at $4.62 a bushel. Jul. wheat was up 2.5 cents at $6.50 a bushel. Jul. oats lost 2.75 cents at $3.58 a bushel. Jul. soybeans was off 0.5 cent at $11.94 a bushel.

Beef was mixed and pork was higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Jun. live cattle gained 0.27 cent at $2.49 a pound. Aug. feeder cattle fell by 2.75 cents at $3.54 a pound. Jun. hogs rose by 0.47 cent at $.96 a pound.

Rebel Wilson wins defamation case brought by young actress

Brisbane, Australia (CNN) — Hollywood star Rebel Wilson has successfully defended claims she defamed a young actress who played the lead role in her directorial debut.An Australian judge on Wednesday dismissed the case brought by “The Deb” actress Charlotte MacInnes, who had accused the “Pitch Perfect” star of spreading lies about her to millions of followers on Instagram.MacInnes said the posts had made her the “subject of abuse, hatred and ridicule online” and affected her career prospects. Justice Elizabeth Raper disagreed.In the posts, Wilson suggested MacInnes had withdrawn a complaint of sexual harassment against the film’s producers to further her career as an actor and singer. MacInnes denies ever having made a complaint.The claim and counterclaim are among serious allegations – including of smear campaigns and embezzlement – aired in multiple court cases now swirling around the production of the Australian musical comedy.Set in an outback Australian town, “The Deb” tells the story of two very different cousins – one from the city and one from the country – who unite ahead of a debutante ball.
