The D.C. region is getting a taste of things to come this winter. After a frost advisory was posted Thursday night into Friday, another is posted Friday night and into Saturday morning.
Friday’s temperatures were unseasonably cool heading into the frosty overnight hours.
“Temperature-sensitive plants may be in jeopardy. A freeze warning has been posted a little farther to the north and west. This will likely signal the end to the growing season for Loudoun, northern Montgomery and Frederick counties,” 7News First Alert Meteorologist Steve Rudin said.
Northwesterly breezes added an extra chill to the air Friday with a mix of sun and clouds. High temperatures peaked in the low 60s, which is below average for late October in the D.C. area.
Friday night brings mainly clear skies and lows ranging from 32 to 44 degrees in a dry and chilly night. Patchy frost is possible for counties west of I-95.

On Sunday, Marine Corps Marathon runners and spectators can expect a chilly start to the day with temperatures in the low 40s. Light winds and clouds should make for good running weather. High temperatures will remain below average with many neighborhoods staying below 60 degrees.
