The air was again slick and hot Friday afternoon, but it’s less certain whether the D.C. area will see a repeat of Thursday night’s thunderstorms.
7News meteorologists say there’s a chance of brief thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, but the roughest weather is likely to hit areas to the the South of the District — and storms have already worked their way across parts of the Eastern shore.
“A lot of us did miss out on rain yesterday, (but) still had some wind damage across parts of Frederick County, Maryland, and Montgomery County as well,” 7News First Alert Meteorologist Jordan Evans told WTOP.
Most of the region can expect a mix of clouds and some sunshine for the remainder of Friday with temperatures in the mid-80s; all that humidity will make it feel closer to 90 degrees.
Saturday is expected to be drier, on both the storm and humidity fronts, with highs near 85.
Sunday sees the return of storm chances and “we start turning up the heat,” 7News First Alert Meteorologist Eileen Whelan said, with temperatures approaching 90 degrees. The highs could then reach into the mid-90s through midweek.
