Keep the umbrella handy; the D.C.-area forecast is rainy and windy over the next couple days.
The string of rainy days began Tuesday, with isolated storms in the D.C. region in the afternoon and evening, though most of the region stayed dry.
Showers and storms are expected to die down after 9 p.m., according to 7News First Alert Meteorologist Jordan Evans.
“We could see a quarter- to half-inch of rain,” 7News First Alert Meteorologist Eileen Whelan said.
While most places didn’t get anything, some areas did experience heavy rain and storms. There was also a chance for damaging wind gusts with any storms that did pop up, Whelan said.
Temperatures will fall between 60 and 65 Tuesday night, when there will be high humidity and clouds.
Wednesday will feature humid weather and possible showers and thunderstorms later in the day. Temperatures will be around 80 degrees.
More rain and storms are likely Thursday, “with tropical humidity,” Whelan said, adding that “rainfall could be heavy at times, possibly leading to isolated flooding with a risk for flash flooding.”
But the chances of rain and storms decrease Friday and Saturday.
