BOSTON (WCVB) — Thousands of Zac Brown Band fans left Boston’s Fenway Park with more than memories after the band’s concert Sunday night.
To celebrate its 15th consecutive sold-out show at Fenway Park, the Zac Brown Band surprised the crowd by giving every fan a free cruise vacation.
Lead singer Zac Brown announced the giveaway during the concert, telling the audience the band wanted to do something special for fans.
“Tonight we’re going to do something that even Jimmy (Buffett) would say is crazy. I’m buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat,” Brown told fans. “This is the biggest giveaway in history ladies and gentlemen, right here tonight at Fenway Park!”
An estimated 37,000 concertgoers were eligible for two cruise vouchers, allowing them to bring a guest, if they signed up by via text or a QR code posted on Fenway’s big screens by midnight.
The giveaway is part of a partnership between the Zac Brown Band and Margaritaville at Sea.
The vouchers are good for two spots aboard the cruise line’s new Beachcomber ship, which is scheduled to debut in January.
Details about taxes, port fees, onboard expenses or other travel costs were not immediately included in the promotion.
The surprise marked one of the largest concert giveaways at Fenway Park and capped the band’s milestone 15th straight sold-out performance at the historic ballpark.
