YORK COUNTY, Pennsylvania (WGAL) — The search continues for Jeffrey Emlet, a missing 15-year-old boy with autism, who was last seen around 2 p.m. on Monday in Dover Township, York County.
Update — Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 10:50 a.m.
According to Chris Weidenhammer with the York County Office of Emergency Management, the search has been scaled back.
Wiedenhammer said local police and fire personnel will be taking over, with boats searching the banks of the Conewago Creek.
Update — Monday, Aug. 17, at 11:52 p.m.
The York County Office of Emergency Management confirmed with WGAL that search operations for Emlet had been suspended for the night. Search teams plan to regroup and resume their efforts Tuesday morning.

The Northern York County Regional Police Department will remain the lead agency in the search. Authorities reported that teams had searched the surrounding area extensively but had not located Emlet as of Monday night.
Police and assisting agencies used Harmony Grove Community Church as a base of operations for several hours Monday.

Emlet was last seen at approximately 2 p.m. Monday near the 4,000 block of Conewago Road and Conewago Creek in Dover Township.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Emlet is a White male approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has blond hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt featuring an American flag, blue jeans, and sneakers.
Authorities have concentrated their search near Conewago Road, Harmony Grove Road, and Conewago Creek in Dover Township. Police indicated that Emlet may be confused or at increased risk of harm or injury.
Emlet’s stepmother, Missy Gulick, told WGAL News 8 that this is the third time he has been reported missing. She encouraged nearby residents to check unlocked garages, sheds, and similar structures where he may be hiding.
Gulick also reported that search teams were using K-9 units, drones, helicopters, and water-rescue boats. She asked residents to review doorbell-camera or security footage and immediately contact police if they see Emlet.
The Northern York County Regional Police Department is leading the search, alongside the Dover Township Fire Department, the York County Sheriff’s Department, and York County Search and Rescue.
Anyone who sees Emlet or has information about his location should call 911 immediately.
