KY: 14 HOSPITALIZED AFTER SCHOOL BUS CRASH

BULLITT COUNTY, Kentucky (WLKY) — A school bus carrying 28 students overturned in Bullitt County Monday afternoon, with more than a dozen people being hospitalized.
The crash happened in the area of Wilson Creek Road and Old Boston Road.
Bullitt County Public Schools said there were 28 elementary school students on the bus when the crash happened.
The driver and eight students were taken to the hospital from the scene, while parents took another five students to local medical facilities to be checked out.
Lebanon Junction Elementary School said it was bus 1515, and they told parents to go to the site of the crash to pick up their children.
Cooper Brown, a student on the bus, said he wanted to be helpful to other students: “I told them that if there was enough room in my car for all of them, I could probably take them to their house if their mom and dad’s didn’t come.”
Adam Heath, Lebanon Junction Fire Chief said he hadn’t seen a crash like this before: “Not in my 24 years in this county.”
It is unclear if another vehicle was involved in the crash.
Bullitt County EMS, along with Nelson County EMS, is responding to the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
