Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce get engaged, sharing photos

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce revealed Tuesday they are engaged, sharing images of the ring and a photo shoot in a garden filled with pink and white roses. 

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the couple captioned a joint post on Instagram.

The 14-time Grammy winner and Kansas City Chiefs tight end began dating in 2023 — after Kelce attended one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Kansas City.

After the concert, in an episode of his podcast, “New Heights,” with his brother and former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce said he was “butthurt” because he didn’t get to meet Swift and give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it. Friendship bracelets became a popular item to wear and trade at the Eras Tour as fans took a lyric in Swift’s song “You’re On Your Own, Kid” to heart. 

Months later, rumors spread that the two were dating, and Swift started attending Kelce’s games.

Ed Kelce, Travis’ father, told WEWS-TV in Cleveland that the engagement occurred about two weeks ago. Ed said the couple informed him via FaceTime while Ed was attending a public Eagles practice.

“At that practice … I got a FaceTime call from them, and as soon as I saw the FaceTime, I saw it was Travis, and then I saw Taylor there with him, I knew what they were going to say, and they, you know, let us know,” Ed Kelce said. 

In the latest “New Heights” episode, in which Swift announced her upcoming 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift said she owed a lot to the podcast. 

“This podcast got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app about two years ago,” she said. 

The pop star joked that Kelce threw a “man tantrum” about not meeting her at the concert, but then she thought, “If this guy isn’t crazy, which is a big if, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.”

“And I was sitting there at the Eras Tour listening to every single one of those songs like, ‘I know what she wants me to do,'” Kelce said. 

The post announcing their proposal is set to Swift’s song “So High School,” from her album “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology,” which she released last year. 

Fans believe the song is about Kelce. In one lyric, Swift sings: “You know how to ball, I know Aristotle.”

The engagement ring was designed by Kindred Lubeck, Swift’s publicist Tree Paine told The Associated Press. The diamond is an old mine brilliant cut, she said.

Lubeck, who is based in New York and operates Artifex Fine Jewelry, is the daughter of Jay Lubeck, a well-known goldsmith in Neptune Beach, Florida.

Click here for updates on this story    CHICAGO (WBBM) -- The investigation by the state of Illinois into mishandled and decomposing bodies found at a Chicago funeral home has expanded to a second facility.The Illinois State Comptroller, which regulates crematoriums, is now investigating Bohemian National Cemetery and Crematorium in connection to the South Chicago Chapel scandal and Morgan family, and has also been shut down, sources told CBS News Chicago.Sources with the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office also said that on top of the 56 decomposing bodies found at South Chicago Chapel, dozens of boxes of cremated remains were also uncovered.The source told CBS News Chicago that the office is holding more than 50 boxes of ashes as a courtesy for Chicago police. A similar situation played out when the same owners had their Chicago Heights crematorium shut down last year.Saturday contractors boarded up the windows and doors of South Chicago Chapel at 95th and Exchange. Some said the lingering gruesome smell made the job difficult.In 2025, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office showed CBS News Chicago Investigator Dave Savini nearly 500 boxes of cremated remains confiscated from the Heights Crematory in Chicago Heights, some of which were 16 years old. The state shut down Heights Crematory and took away owner Clark Morgan's license. His wife, Johanna Morgan, owns the South Chicago Chapel and Clark Morgan's name was listed as its president.But since crematorium and funeral home licenses are regulated by different state agencies, Morgan was allowed to still care for the bodies of loved ones.The ME's office said they will reach out to families once they identify the bodies.
