Prince William appears on ‘New Heights’ podcast ahead of Swift-Kelce wedding

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding day is here, and it’s kicking off with an appearance by Prince William on the “New Heights” podcast.

The prerecorded episode dropped at noon Friday, just hours before the anticipated Swift and Kelce wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The couple in 2024 posted a photo to Instagram, posing alongside William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who attended one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows.

“One of the coolest moments ever was meeting you and the little ones that day,” Travis Kelce said. “Me and Jason joke about it all the time. We were so nervous to meet you guys and the royal family.”

Jason Kelce said the highlight for him, as the father of four girls, was meeting Charlotte.

“Our guest today is the 6-foot-3 prince from London, England,” Jason Kelce said in an announcement of Friday’s podcast. “That’s right, the president of the English Football Association, the vice royal patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, the duke of Cambridge, the duke of Cornwall, the lord of the isles, prince and great steward of Scotland, earl of Chester, and the prince of Wales, 92%ers, please welcome his royal highness, Prince William.”

The Kelce brothers talked about American football with William, but focused on soccer and the World Cup. England’s team this World Cup is based out of Kansas City, which is also where the Chiefs, Travis Kelce’s team, is based. Arrowhead Stadium, temporarily being called Kansas City Stadium, is one of the host venues for the World Cup.

The Swift-Kelce wedding has been referred to by fans as “America’s Royal Wedding.”

Swift herself appeared on “New Heights” last year.

“This podcast did a lot for me,” Swift said. “It gave me a boyfriend!”

The singer also performed alongside the prince and Bon Jovi during the 2013 Winter Whites Gala in London.

In May, William said “no comment” when asked on U.K. radio show Heart Breakfast if he’d be attending the wedding.

“I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see,” he said.

“People” reported late last month that William would not be in attendance

Speculation surrounds who will attend Friday’s star-studded wedding, but guests are expected to begin arriving around 3:30 p.m. via a special VIP area covered by a tent, law enforcement sources said. The ceremony is set for 5:30 p.m. and the party is expected to go till 2 a.m. Saturday.

Woman stung more than 300 times by Africanized bees, rescued by deputy and volunteers

Click here for updates on this story    ARANSAS COUNTY, Texas (KRIS) -- Just 4 months into recovery from a fractured spine, Rockport resident Rachel Kelly-McKee was stung more than 300 times by Africanized bees at a local storage facility.Surveillance video captured by a camera at Goose Island Park Storage on Saturday, Aug. 15, shows Kelly-McKee in her storage unit with her German shepherd, Chelsea. Kelly-McKee says Chelsea loves to come out to the units with her, but right by Chelsea is the tree that over 300 bees came out of. Kelly-McKee says it could have been Chelsea that provoked the bees."She came in and I noticed she had a few, a few bees on her and so I said. You know, I thought they were honeybees. I said, don't bring the bees in here, you know," Kelly-McKee said. But it was more than just a few bees."The minute we cleared that door, I was just absolutely inundated. And so she ran one way and I ran the other way. I ran all around here just swatting and trying to get them off of me and screaming," Kelly-McKee said.An automatic gate at the storage facility stopped Kelly-McKee from being able to get away. The gate could only be activated by a car, not a person. The owner of the storage units opened the gate remotely when he saw what was happening. That is when Deputy Will Newsom of the Aransas County Sheriff's Office and the Lamar Volunteer Fire Department arrived and sprung into action."But my plan was to roll up. And get her into the back compartment of my car, and then extricate her from the scene and move her down to Lamar Fire Station where we could get medical attention. So once I got her there, I got her out of the car and I grabbed the hose and started hosing her down, and so she could start getting the rest of the bees out of there," Newsom said.Without his quick action, the situation could have been fatal."I mean, you know, just, I mean one bee sting can be fatal to some people. She took over 300 stings, which is definitely in the fatal range. So I, I knew that we had a limited amount of time to be able to get her out of the situation, get her to medical care," Newsom said.Kelly-McKee says she is not looking to place blame. She says she just wants people to be aware of how to protect themselves. Please note: This story was provided to CNN Wire by an affiliate and does not contain original CNN reporting.
