On a per-share basis, the Louisville, Kentucky-based company said it had profit of 38 cents.
The results matched Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 38 cents per share.
The company posted revenue of $911 million in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $921.2 million.
Brown-Forman B shares have climbed 1% since the beginning of the year, while the S&P’s 500 index has climbed 11%. The stock has dropped 9.5% in the last 12 months.
