A man hospitalized after his Annapolis, Maryland, home exploded and collapsed last week has died from his injuries.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department identified the man as Stanley Synowczynski, 75. He died Thursday night after suffering significant burns in the Aug. 20 explosion off Green Holly Drive, fire officials said.
His wife, Linda Synowczynski, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 76.
Fire investigators concluded this week that the blast was an accident.

“The homeowner was performing work on the home’s HVAC system when a propane line was inadvertently cut,” the Anne Arundel fire department said in an Aug. 24 statement. “The damaged line allowed propane gas to leak and accumulate inside the residence without the homeowner realizing it.”
Stanley Synowczynski then used a metal grinder, igniting the propane.
The resulting explosion collapsed the house’s second floor onto the first floor and sent debris halfway up the 1100 block of Green Holly Drive, fire officials said.
Fire crews arrived at the home just after 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday in response to 911 calls from neighbors.
