Woman dead after tree falls on car in Colesville

A woman has died after a tree fell on her car in Colesville, Maryland.

NBC4 reported that the woman was Rose Briceno, a lawyer for the Department of Homeland Security from Colesville. She and her son had just returned from a Halloween vigil at their church and were sitting in her car waiting for a break in the rain before heading into their house.

Around 9:45 p.m., the storm brought a tree down on top of the car.

The tree trapped her in the car and left her with severe injuries. Montgomery County firefighters were able to extract her from the car and transport her to a nearby hospital.

The woman was pronounced dead Friday.
