Human remains found in Howard Co. wooded area

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after human remains were found in a wooded area in Columbia, Howard County, Maryland.

The skeletal remains were discovered by a landscape worker.

Officers were called to the 12200 block of Green Meadow Drive around 3:15 p.m. Friday afternoon and confirmed the remains were human.

The remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.

No additional information, including the identity of the deceased, or how long the remains have been there, are known at this time, according to Howard County police.
