Man struck by car in La Plata, suffers traumatic leg injuries

WASHINGTON — A man in his 30s was flown to a hospital after being struck by a car in La Plata, Maryland, Sunday night.

It happened on Shining Willow Way and Crain Highway just after 8 p.m., according to Charles County police.

The man suffered traumatic leg injuries, officials say.

Traffic was impeded along Crain Highway but the road reopened around midnight.
