Overturned truck on Dulles Toll Road causes afternoon traffic delays

An overturned truck on Va. 267/Dulles Toll Road just after Route 7 in Vienna, Virginia, caused significant delays starting Wednesday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., the overturned ready-mix concrete delivery truck prompted lane closures and traffic reroutes.

Police had diverted traffic onto Dulles Access Road. Toll lanes were getting past the crash by squeezing by on the right single-file.

Earlier, WTOP’s Bob Marbourg said people heading to Dulles International Airport would still be able to get there. All lanes reopened by just before 8 p.m.

Washington Manassas Airport cleared to offer commercial airline flights

Washington Manassas Airport, formerly known as Manassas Regional Airport, has taken a big step toward its goal of offering passenger service. The airport, which is owned by the city of Manassas, Virginia, received its FAA Part 139 Airport Operating Certificate, a designation required before commercial airlines can begin service. During a ceremony Monday, FAA Associate Administrator Dan Edwards presented a framed version of the certificate to airport leaders. Edwards said it's "extremely rare" for an existing airport that caters to private flights to clear this hurdle.
