On a per-share basis, the Spring, Texas-based company said it had net income of $1.06. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.11 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 95 cents per share.
The information technology products and services provider posted revenue of $12.21 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $12.09 billion.
For the current quarter ending in October, Hewlett Packard Enterprise expects its per-share earnings to range from $1.20 to $1.30.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $13.9 billion to $14.8 billion for the fiscal fourth quarter.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.75 to $3.85 per share.
