WATCH LIVE: Key Bridge removal, cleanup begins in Baltimore

Crews in Baltimore, Maryland, are starting to remove pieces of the Francis Scott Key Bridge that collapsed when a ship ran into it last week.

On March 30, teams of engineers started cutting and lifting steel wreckage from the bridge in the Patapsco River.

The Key Bridge Response Unified Command includes the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Maryland Department of the Environment, the Maryland Transportation Authority, the Witt O’Brien’s representing Synergy Marine, and the Maryland State Police.

Ciena: Fiscal Q3 Earnings Snapshot

HANOVER, Md. (AP) — HANOVER, Md. (AP) — Ciena Corp. (CIEN) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $266.4 million. On a per-share basis, the Hanover, Maryland-based company said it had profit of $1.83. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $2.11 per share. The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.74 per share. The developer of high-speed networking technology posted revenue of $1.67 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.65 billion.
