Orioles outfielder O’Neill placed on 10-day IL with shoulder injury

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles placed right fielder Tyler O’Neill on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with right shoulder inflammation after he was hurt making a diving catch Saturday against the Rays.

The move is retroactive to Sunday. O’Neill told reporters he injured his rotator cuff. He is batting .212 with 10 home runs and 23 RBIs over 85 games this season.

The Orioles selected the contract of infielder Luis Vázquez from Triple-A Norfolk to fill the roster spot.
