VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Telus Corp. (TU) on Friday reported first-quarter net income of $99.1 million.

On a per-share basis, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had net income of 7 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 17 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 17 cents per share.

The telecommunications company posted revenue of $3.65 billion in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.72 billion.
