OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Green Plains Renewable Energy Inc. (GPRE) on Thursday reported profit of $32.9 million in its first quarter.

The Omaha, Nebraska-based company said it had net income of 42 cents per share.

The ethanol production, marketing and commodities company posted revenue of $445.8 million in the period.

Mitch McConnell of Kentucky on Sunday announced, after weeks of speculation, why he had been hospitalized and away from Capital Hill.The longtime senator said he had a fall last month that landed him in the hospital.“My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital.
