SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) — SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) — Cytokinetics Inc. (CYTK) on Tuesday reported a loss of $206 million in its first quarter.

The South San Francisco, California-based company said it had a loss of $1.67 per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for a loss of $1.67 per share.

The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $19.4 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $7.1 million.
