The real estate investment trust, based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, said it had funds from operations of $227.4 million, or 64 cents per share, in the period.

The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for funds from operations of 64 cents per share.

Funds from operations is a closely watched measure in the REIT industry. It takes net income and adds back items such as depreciation and amortization.

The company said it had net income of $221.7 million, or 67 cents per share.

The real estate investment trust, based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, posted revenue of $433.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $428.8 million, which missed Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $429.5 million.

For the year, the company reported funds from operations of $906.4 million. Revenue was reported as $1.7 billion.

For the current quarter ending in March, UDR expects its per-share funds from operations to range from 61 cents to 63 cents.

The company expects full-year funds from operations in the range of $2.47 to $2.57 per share.
