Darden Restaurants: Fiscal Q2 Earnings Snapshot

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Darden Restaurants Inc. (DRI) on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $237.2 million.

The Orlando, Florida-based company said it had profit of $2.03 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and to account for discontinued operations, were $2.08 per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.09 per share.

The owner of Olive Garden and other chain restaurants posted revenue of $3.1 billion in the period, exceeding Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.08 billion.

Darden Restaurants expects full-year earnings in the range of $10.50 to $10.70 per share.
